Beyond Boundaries

Beyond these boundaries that stay forbidden,
You'll find your very own affections are hidden..
Emotions of trust, true love and understanding,
Bound by desires and prejudiced commanding..

Beyond these boundaries in a dark closed cage,
Which holds your wisdom and all our knowledge..
Lies an openness with no bounded limitations,
This space well excels our own expectations..

Beyond these boundaries in close proximity,
Here we find the opened arms of infinity..
Opened wide across to give concern and care,
Then joined together to make a common prayer..

Beyond these boundaries in blue heaven above,
Float clouds of our deepest heartfelt love..
One for each emotion and acceptance of every kind,
Thousands in numbers, under one roof they bind....

Beyond these boundaries in small known sections,
Are all our strong impulses and immense reactions..
From within the coffers of our hearts they rise,
Courage makes us brave and ideas make us wise..

Beyond these boundaries is here where we find,
Confrontations of illusions and a stable mind..
This is where sole comfort rules over distress,
Failing all failures and hurdles in our success..

Beyond these boundaries are the green fresh fields,
Where crops of misery die and understanding yields..
This is where content is and no one steal or borrow,
A smile drinks our tears and joy over rules sorrow..

Beyond these boundaries is the infinite sparkling sky,
One shooting bright star not seen by our naked eye..
Chilling sounds from within remain unheard by our ear,
Unconditional boundaries would make this picture more clear..

When our mind says you can't, Our heart says we can,
Achieve the impossible never achieved by another man..
Strength to transform the storm in a pleasant breeze,
Bring the vision of our soul and our demons will seize

Outside the Window

The black bird.

Perched on a tree 24ft high.

Hop, step, jump

It goes. Then flies

High

High in the sky

Across the horizon

From the window of the library

Dense clouds travelling ever so slowly

As if saying hi and then bye

By and large my tears

On the brink of overflowing

Wait for the instruction

For the go ahead sign

When i give up hope

And can’t take it anymore

Studying is hard

I’m so tired of feeling

Sick and tired of

Feeling...

Feeling sad, empty

Not living the full worth of what I thought

Or expected life to be.

My expectation of a smooth journey

Has been marred with painful struggles

And here i wait, i fade into the distance

And I almost sink into the chair of self pity

As i wonder ‘when will it all be over?’

Over and over, the tears threaten to advance

Dancing on my eyelids...

Eventually, they drop onto the

Clear track that is my face

And I remain gazing out my window

Gazing out of this box that is my life.

..................................................................................
I wrote this a while back when I was studying for exams. The view outside was great and I just let my thoughts wander. I had had it with studying and it was all too much at the time but I made it and I passed the year! :-)

Psalms

The longest book in the bible
Not surprising as it speaks for all of life
Not life as we wished it to be, just life as it is
Running the gamut of human emotion
From thanksgiving to fear,
To loneliness, to grief

It’s an expression of feelings
Through poems and songs
Helping us to better understand
Why our hearts long to be close to God

We see the fragility and imperfection of man
The psalmist cries for forgiveness
He vents his pain to God
Trusting God fully; His faithfulness
Has no end.
He completely pours out his heart
Taking a step to become whole

Learning to pray the Psalms
Opens a personal communication line
With God. We are able to realize
His presence.
Thanking him for the very essence
Of who He is
Remembering What He did
In the past and how he delivered you from your enemies

M.U.S.I.C

Playlist, check
Volume on high, yes
I-phone in place, check
Head phones connected, yep!

Bumping my head to the tune
Not knowing that what I’m listening to
Has the power to change my mood

Immersed in another world
Where my spirit thrives on every word
That is sung
Oblivious to the change that is going on
within

#Delete. All gospel truth now cleared
#Ctrl S. The new changes have been saved
A clean wipe out of my memory like a hard drive
#Caps Lock. Fear, pain, insecurity, no more bible verse

Moving. Under. The Spiritual. Influence of Christ
That’s what music is really about
It should be an expression of worship
Deep down from the heart

So when making a melody in your heart
It’s a spiritual exercise
Through which He can make you glad
So make a joyful noise

Let the prince of this world be silent and listen
As you do M.U.S.I.C.

A moment

Peaceful.
Watching the clouds go by;
tiny water droplets amassing far in the west,
in the serene blue sky.
Birds chirping happily in their nest;
an infusion of pleasant melodies.
Trees waving cheerfully
in the cool afternoon breeze
Mind adrift,
floating in the distance.
Lost in time.
Daffodils smiling in the sunshine,
Feels like a Deity
healing my heart,
soothing my soul,
speaking to me.
In that moment,
I sense God.

....................................................................................................
Ever Just sat outside one nice summer day and observed your surrounding? I look at nature and it just Shows God's creativity and ingenuity! God is just amazing and this just captures that for me,hope you are blessed! :-)

Connected/In your presence

Head bowed
Hands raised
Heart in total surrender
Waiting to hear from you
The simple pleasure of gazing into your eyes
Being still before you
Blissful Intimacy
For our hearts to be connected
Basking in your presence, not expecting anything in return
Burdens laid at your feet
In you I know I am complete
Nothing really satisfies
Like when you hold me and call me by name
The work, the money, and the cars – they don’t gratify.
Remaining in your love and enjoying your company
Soul longing for you as the deer longs for water
In your presence
Where all fear is gone
I find my rest
In your presence
Your Ubiquitous essence
Encompasses me round about.
In that place where I belong
Seeking you with all my heart till I find you there
The fullness of my joy
My refuge and strength
A very present help
I can come before you with singing and thanksgiving
Early in the morning
Receiving what you say
As a precious treasure; a heart-felt love letter
Till I connect with you.

Refiner's fire

Rough edges. Jagged borders. Cold disposition.

Accumulated over the years

due to rejection. Abuse

Life’s way of making you want to disappear

Throwing away all you hold dear

Holding a false perception that you are just a ‘mere’

- A Mere person and nothing more

But somehow finding yourself right in the middle

In the heat of it all

Where those rough edges are being smoothed

Wounds are being soothed

And the healing begins

Still in the fire,

Changes like spare parts

Come together in the assembly hall

Till you no longer look like YOU

The mirror now reads:

A spitting image of the refiner

.........................................

Most of us have gone through "fire" in one way or another. Through our trials and tribulations, rough edges were smoothed and we were molded into shape until we more closely resembled what we were meant to be.

God allows us to go through hard times so that we may grow and become smooth and shiny. His goal is for us to become a reflection of Him that not only He can see, but also so others can see Him in us.

The amazing thing is that while we ae in the fire,He's holding us and watching us because if we are in there too long, we may get damaged. So he cares! He's just trying to ensure you come out as PURE GOLD!

A virtuous woman

A virtuous woman, who can find?
She is worth much more than rubies
She is strong
Her lamp burns late into the night
A woman of virtue, yes she is me!

She makes cloth
So skillfully woven
That they are expensive
Worth a lot when sold
Her hands never cease to work
They know no idleness
Only relentless energy

Her husband praises her
Her children could have no better mother
Although there are many fine women out there
She surpasses them all

She speaks wise words
And teaches others to do the same
She never wastes her time
‘Cos she knows that it is precious.
She watches over her family
Making sure everyone is well fed and happy
Then she opens her doors to the poor
A selfless act of kindness by an excellent entrepreneur

She is a compatible companion; a loyal friend
Her husband trusts her completely
With her, he has all he needs.
She does not harbour evil intentions
She does him good
For as long as she lives!

She maintains a standard of
Moral excellence and Good character
Clothed with Humility, Self worth and self confidence
Her Dignity is intact
She is beautiful and full of charm
She looks to the future with joy
Most importantly, She fears the Lord!

Thoughts...

Lord anoint my tongue, anoint my lips
So that everytime I sit, I wonder and I think
Let it be your words that I speak

‘cos my mind is a mess
But for your goodness
I know you can fix me next

Give me the words to say
To the people that come my way
As I go about today.

............................................................................................
This is a little prayer in the form of poetry. there are times when i really want to encourage someone but i don't have the right words. There are times when i feel that there's so much going on with me that i cannot even bring myself to talk to someone else about their own problems. This was just going through my head and i was thinking if God can just anoint my words so that rather than me struggling to find my own words, i'll speak His own words and they'll be perfect.....just the right therapy for someone's broken heart or worried mind e.t.c

Jesus died...that's love

Jesus went
to calvary
To save the rest
like you and me
That’s love

They hung him high
They stretched him wide
He hung his head
For me He died
That’s love

That’s not how
the story ends
‘Cos in three days
He rose again
That’s love

......................................................................................................
this is just a snippet from a love medley by God's chosen. The words ministered to me and It kinda summarises what Easter is about- The Love of Christ...
He went through so much for us while we were still sinners and so undeserving...His love knows no bounds. We can't even begin to comprehend it's depth!

Stay blessed y'all..Have a great Easter and Spread the Love of Christ.

Lies

I told a lie, one small tiny lie.
What I knew, I said I did not know
And now I carry it with me all the time
Hoping to grow old with it but it eats at my bones.

One lie became two, three, four
Guilt plastered on my face
Heavy on my shoulders; a stench to abhor
This lie is in control, I’ve lost my place.

Now several lies have been told
My life, my actions are all lies
My heart has now become stone cold,
I see in black and white, no more green grass or blue sky.

Unfortunately, the end came too soon.
I thought I would stop but that was just in my mind,
Each lie proved a useful tool.
I became the source of pain to many, all because of a lie?

.........................................................................................................
There's really no reason to lie, it causes a lot of pain and for the person doing the lieing- it causes phsycological stress. when the 'end' comes - that is the time when you get caught- it may be too late to rectify the damage already done..And then you finally ask yourself: why did i even lie in the first place??
It's a new year so don't begin with lies. Have a wonderful year ahead!x

Nineteen

Reminiscing on the times
When I was a little girl.
The tight black curls,
The beginning of the upward climb.

Then like everything must,
That little girl changed.
Like the green of the favourite dress faded
Childishness slowly ebbed away.

There were days when I played in the rain
And others I had to allay pain.
I managed all the roles,
Both young and old.

A little more fun and adventure,
High school was hard work.
A greater responsibility; a risky venture
Having friends for life was an added perk!

My life came to a pause,
I felt stuck on a spot.
In the attempt to find myself,
I discovered God in a greater depth.

Now, I’m a living work-in-progress
With a touch of brilliance.
Coming together are the puzzle pieces;
It’s another day for me to rejoice and be glad!

Prisoner of pride

Huge head. Big ego.
Nose raised to the air
Refusing to ask for help.
All by your self,
Struggling in despair
Fooled by the lie-decorated lair
Your strong façade; a hopeless affair.

Haughtiness in quintessence,
Totally absorbed in your self
Suddenly you think you are of the essence.

No complete understanding of tomorrow
Nor an appreciation for today
Borrowing people and after use, away they go.
You forget that every dog will have its day.

Boasting in ignorance,
Blinded by the expanse of your empire,
Encapsulated in your narrow, diminished mind
You fail to see you are a prisoner of pride.

.....................................................................................

Hey everyone! i know i haven't updated in ages..i was looking for inspiration.lol
This poem is about pride (bad pride not the self-confidence type of pride), the sort of pride people show when they look down on others and think they are the world..it's all about them!
Pride goes before a fall says the Bible..but pride can also be a prison a cage that looks you in for so long..it's invisible so you don't realise but it's there!
Humility is definitely the way to go. Stay blessed people!!!

Bored

Bored.Sitting here waiting for time to pass
The steady , loud voice of my teacher
Fades away into the distance.
I see lips move but sound eludes me.
To my left and right are chittering bugs
All dressed in uniform.
Tired. Sleepy. I just want my bed.
Well actually, I’m tired of sleeping.
I want to do something fun.
Maths lessons,Biology, chemistry…dreadful!

The sports day is just beginning
It’s fun watching
People run.
The adrenaline pumping,
The roaring of hands as
The sprinter
Crosses the finish line.
The smile of victory
Sitting comfortably on his face
And the medal embracing his neck.

As the events come to an end
Equipments are cleared up and
Once more I find myself bored;
Waiting for time to pass
Until I go home.

Who is God?

God is the beginning and the end
He is the everlasting friend
He knitted me together in my mother’s womb
He raised his son that was put in a tomb
He knew me from birth
And he created this earth
The heaven is his throne
And everything in this world is his own

God is love
He tells me right from wrong
He is a father to the fatherless
And also help to the helpless
He watches where I go so that I don’t fall
And he answers me when I call
He knows my name
And he has unending fame

He created the skies
And in it he put everything that flies
He made the sun shine
And he is good all the time

He is the way the truth and the life
Anyone who believes in him shall never die
He is a supernatural being
The one that has ever been
He does not forsake or leave me
But he hears our every rhythm
He is our saviour
And the world’s creator

The alpha and omega
The everlasting king
The Lord of Lords
The creator of heaven and earth
The one whom our praises are due
The one whom we give all the glory
He alone is God.

.......................................................................................
I wrote this a few years back in my early teens when I was just discovering my talent in poetry...I saw poems on this topic and I thought I would write my own...As I took the pen and paper, I just let my thoughts flow...I thought of who God was to me, what He had done and the words came... I hope this speaks to you as you read!

Today

We have a new start,
A fresh quota of 24 hours;
a new canvass for new colours and exhilarating art
where artistic prowess can blossom into vibrant flowers.
An atmosphere where we can dare to dream,
conceive ideas and imagine.
We can put right the mistakes of yesterday
and prune out the mishaps of the becoming bouquet.
Today is a clean page;
will you let the past out of the bag or put it in a cage?

..................................................................................................
Today was my last day in school so in a way I've officially 'graduated' but I still have exams to write though! lol. Anyway I was thinking how I now have an opportunity to move on to the next phase of my life/education .The things I have done wrong in the past few years, I can correct in the years ahead. From a Christian point of view, Jesus gave us a fresh start when He died on the cross!.......................The message here is basically, to utilise today wisely and fully not allowing your 'yesterday' to get in the way!

Trapped

Reaching for the door of opportunity
to find freedom
and break free.
The air is stale,
It is suffocating.
The 6 walls around me
Leave me in an enclosed cube.
I’m trapped!
The feeling that a Giant
like Goliath
Stands 6 feet tall
before me is prominent.
My flesh, weak and frail
Held together by ligaments of fear
Gives in, crumbling under the pressure
Of this challenge.
A giant within and a mountain before me –
An enclosure that needs a big God
To expose me.

............................................................................................

This poem was talks about being trapped, not only physically in a house or something but being trapped by your thoughts and memories. It's when you keep remembering the things you want to forget that makes you feel trapped!

The Cross

An object, a mere symbol of Christianity
A pedant on your necklace or key chain
The sign made by the priest with his hands
Or the fusion of humanity and deity

Sometime around 25AD
A king was substituted for a robber
The son of God
Was mocked and made to suffer

The implement of execution
Turned to a means of Salvation
A blood sacrifice
That issued out redemption

On that plank of wood
Where his hands were nailed
His unconditional love
Had no bounds.

On that plank of wood
Where his feet were nailed
And that spear was thrust into His side:

Blood, so red and thick
Gushed out like a flood
- A flood that drowned
All sickness

Water, so strong
That the torrent
Washed away our sins like
a retreating wave on the shores of life

The cross.
The situation of Gods’ power
And humanity’s sinful nature.
The meeting of God and man.

Questions

Who, what, when, where?
I stop and stare
Life goes by
and I don’t understand a thing
I have no clue how
or why?

My head keeps spinning;
There are bills to pay,
Mouths to feed,
Work to do,
but there’s no strength to.

An abundance of people to love,
Laughter to share,
Joy to give,
Yet I do not know
how to peacefully live.

I wonder when….
When will I have the ability
to carry my head up
and walk through the doors of opportunity?

But in the first place,
Why am I here?
Who am I here for?
What do I do
And how do I do it?

Many questions race through my head
I wonder who, what, where and when...
When, if ever will these questions come to an end?

Distant

My hands reach for yours
but you pull away each time.
The sea between us widens into an ocean,
wider than the thin wall that separates our rooms.
We drift apart like the tectonic plates of Africa and South America.

You are never there.

‘hi’ and ‘bye’ are the only words we manage to string together in conversation.
The person I once knew is no more.
I see a vague picture of you but quickly it fades away,
all that is left is a shadow; a figment of my imagination,
A total stranger.
Your silhouette stands outside my memory.
