Who is God?

God is the beginning and the end
He is the everlasting friend
He knitted me together in my mother’s womb
He raised his son that was put in a tomb
He knew me from birth
And he created this earth
The heaven is his throne
And everything in this world is his own

God is love
He tells me right from wrong
He is a father to the fatherless
And also help to the helpless
He watches where I go so that I don’t fall
And he answers me when I call
He knows my name
And he has unending fame

He created the skies
And in it he put everything that flies
He made the sun shine
And he is good all the time

He is the way the truth and the life
Anyone who believes in him shall never die
He is a supernatural being
The one that has ever been
He does not forsake or leave me
But he hears our every rhythm
He is our saviour
And the world’s creator

The alpha and omega
The everlasting king
The Lord of Lords
The creator of heaven and earth
The one whom our praises are due
The one whom we give all the glory
He alone is God.

.......................................................................................
I wrote this a few years back in my early teens when I was just discovering my talent in poetry...I saw poems on this topic and I thought I would write my own...As I took the pen and paper, I just let my thoughts flow...I thought of who God was to me, what He had done and the words came... I hope this speaks to you as you read!

Today

We have a new start,
A fresh quota of 24 hours;
a new canvass for new colours and exhilarating art
where artistic prowess can blossom into vibrant flowers.
An atmosphere where we can dare to dream,
conceive ideas and imagine.
We can put right the mistakes of yesterday
and prune out the mishaps of the becoming bouquet.
Today is a clean page;
will you let the past out of the bag or put it in a cage?

..................................................................................................
Today was my last day in school so in a way I've officially 'graduated' but I still have exams to write though! lol. Anyway I was thinking how I now have an opportunity to move on to the next phase of my life/education .The things I have done wrong in the past few years, I can correct in the years ahead. From a Christian point of view, Jesus gave us a fresh start when He died on the cross!.......................The message here is basically, to utilise today wisely and fully not allowing your 'yesterday' to get in the way!

Trapped

Reaching for the door of opportunity
to find freedom
and break free.
The air is stale,
It is suffocating.
The 6 walls around me
Leave me in an enclosed cube.
I’m trapped!
The feeling that a Giant
like Goliath
Stands 6 feet tall
before me is prominent.
My flesh, weak and frail
Held together by ligaments of fear
Gives in, crumbling under the pressure
Of this challenge.
A giant within and a mountain before me –
An enclosure that needs a big God
To expose me.

This poem was talks about being trapped, not only physically in a house or something but being trapped by your thoughts and memories. It's when you keep remembering the things you want to forget that makes you feel trapped!

The Cross

An object, a mere symbol of Christianity
A pedant on your necklace or key chain
The sign made by the priest with his hands
Or the fusion of humanity and deity

Sometime around 25AD
A king was substituted for a robber
The son of God
Was mocked and made to suffer

The implement of execution
Turned to a means of Salvation
A blood sacrifice
That issued out redemption

On that plank of wood
Where his hands were nailed
His unconditional love
Had no bounds.

On that plank of wood
Where his feet were nailed
And that spear was thrust into His side:

Blood, so red and thick
Gushed out like a flood
- A flood that drowned
All sickness

Water, so strong
That the torrent
Washed away our sins like
a retreating wave on the shores of life

The cross.
The situation of Gods’ power
And humanity’s sinful nature.
The meeting of God and man.
