Prisoner of pride

Huge head. Big ego.
Nose raised to the air
Refusing to ask for help.
All by your self,
Struggling in despair
Fooled by the lie-decorated lair
Your strong façade; a hopeless affair.

Haughtiness in quintessence,
Totally absorbed in your self
Suddenly you think you are of the essence.

No complete understanding of tomorrow
Nor an appreciation for today
Borrowing people and after use, away they go.
You forget that every dog will have its day.

Boasting in ignorance,
Blinded by the expanse of your empire,
Encapsulated in your narrow, diminished mind
You fail to see you are a prisoner of pride.

Hey everyone! i know i haven't updated in ages..i was looking for inspiration.lol
This poem is about pride (bad pride not the self-confidence type of pride), the sort of pride people show when they look down on others and think they are the world..it's all about them!
Pride goes before a fall says the Bible..but pride can also be a prison a cage that looks you in for so long..it's invisible so you don't realise but it's there!
Humility is definitely the way to go. Stay blessed people!!!
